MARVELOUS WEST ANATOLIA

 

 

Day 1: HOME- İZMİR 
Arrival in İzmir. You’re welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel 
by your tour director. Dinner and overnight in İzmir.

Day 2: IZMIR – PAMUKKALE
Departure for Pamukkale. On the way visiting Aphrodisias, the only ancient city 
dedicated for Aphrodite, with its Museum full of excellent examples of 
sculpture. Departure for Pamukkale, unique in the world with its fantastic 
formations of stalactites, cataracts and basins. Visiting the ancient city of 
Hierapolis. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 3: PAMUKKALE – CAPPADOCIA
Departure for Konya. Visiting the Mausoleum of Mevlana, founder of the mystic 
sect for whirling dervishes, the Karatay Medresesi, housing the Museum of Tiles. 
Departure for Cappadocia. On the way visiting Sultanhan, a Seljuk caravansarai. 
Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 4: CAPPADOCIA
Visiting the Göreme Open air Museum, the monastic complex of rock chapels 
covered with frescoes, the valley of Zelve, the village of Avanos, famous for 
its pottery, onyx and carpets, the troglodyte village of Göreme and the rock 
pinnacle of Uçhisar. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 5: CAPPADOCIA – ANKARA
Departure for Ankara. On the way visiting the spectacular underground city of 
Derinkuyu, strolling through its labyrinth of corridors, the village of Gelveri 
(Güzelyurt), the valley of Ihlara, a canyon housing more than one hundred 
Churches bejeweled by frescoes. Arrival in Ankara and overnight in Ankara.
Day 6: ANKARA – AFYON
In the morning visiting the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the Mausoleum 
of Ataturk. Departure for Afyon. On the way visiting Gordion, the famous capital 
of Phyrigians. Dinner and overnight in Afyon.

Day 7: AFYON – KUŞADASI
Departure for Kuşadası. On the way visiting Sardis, the capital of the ancient 
Kingdom of Lydia with its historical synagogue, the temple of Artemis and one of 
the Seven Churches of Apocalypse. Dinner and overnight in Kuşadası.

Day 8: KUŞADASI – HOME
In the morning visiting Ephesus, the celebrated city of antiquity with its 
marvelous monuments, the House of Virgin Mary and the Archeological Museum. 
Transfer to the airport for return flight or to a hotel in Kuşadası.
